Running your ad campaign

Before you plunge headlong into an advertising campaign using banners and the like, let us look at the more common pitfalls associated with this type of campaign.

Common Pitfalls:

1) Target market. It is imperative your campaign targets the right people. For example there is no point running a Jelly Bean banner on a site dedicated to insulin diabetics. Furthermore there is only a limited return advertising Jelly Beans on an opticians web pages. However, advertise your beans on a children's activity website and you may find a far greater number of click-throughs to your site. If you are in the sweet/candy business, you know how important marketing to kids is.

The target market is almost always an issue when the campaign is run by third party marketers that run a banner pool.
