Firstly, let us look at some
commonly available demographically related data. I have used
a little Java scripting on this page to show you what
information is "easily" obtained from people simply
visiting a website. All this java script is freely available
on the internet.

Not all these Scripts work in
all browsers but you can get an idea of the kind of
information being passed.
With your IP address a quick
"whois"
lookup will reveal your ISP and geographic location. Combine
that information with who is using what OS (Operating System)
and screen/monitor details and we can start building some
useful demographic information.
The scripts I have used here
simply return the information to your browser, of course they
could easily be adapted for a database entry. I do not
collect or use any information from this page.
My current versions of SIPAX
and DEPIUM are C++ applications. I am currently working
on an online PHP4 limited version and an MSexcel version
for free download to use while offline. When they are ready I
will announce them on the index page. If you are interested,
then please hit "<Home" below and
bookmark the page, then pop in now and again to see the
latest developments.
The next topic in the
Demographic series is marketing, not the various ways of
marketing a website but the issues of which techniques to use
in different geographic locations.
