If you have come to this page from another website, you have probably clicked the support or help link.

This page is to enable web-users with disabilities access the internet. On this page you will find links to alternative browsers and tips to adjust existing browsers to make web pages easier to view.

All external links on this page open in a new window. before you download any new browser software, please be aware that some of the browsers are, unfortunately, not free. If you are partially sighted, your existing browser may work well by performing a few simple "tweaks".

I cannot guarantee all web pages will work correctly as that is really down to the design capabilities of the web designer of each website. Any website that claims conformance to "Bobby" or the "WAI" should render without any problem. Designers with little knowledge or disregard to accessibility from various devices are likely to have built a website on a "browser specific" platform.

    Enhancing your browser accessibility

Internet Explorer: This will work on all websites that follow the CSS conventions as laid down by the W3C and most well designed pages. Pages using CSS will need to have the "ignore font sizes" box checked as per the last example, simply changing font sizes will not work.

To change how page colours are displayed:
Tools > internet options > general > colors.

To display Web page text in a different font:
Tools > internet options > general > fonts then select either web page font or plain text font.

To display Web page text larger or smaller:
view > text size.

To specify fonts and colors to always use for Web pages:
Tools > internet options > general > accessibility.

Netscape 4X: This will work on all websites that follow the CSS conventions as laid down by the W3C and most well designed pages.

increase or decrease font size:
view > increase font / decrease font

to change the fonts in your display:
edit > preferences > appearance > fonts

to change the colors in your display:
edit > preferences > appearance > colors

NOTE: Neither of these browsers tweaks are able to change image sizes used as text.
